I wrote this sequence a few years ago. Harris can be a fun guy, when it suits him.
Flight of the Binturong was originally conceived as a reaction to a complete lack of cool science fiction movies from yesteryear. I wanted to see something that was like Alien, but without so much horror. Obviously the concept of space tow truckers is a boring one without conflict, but I wanted to show the crew in their natural environment; how they respond to each other on a regular day. While Avery is a pro, space can be, and often is, a scary place for anybody. It may seem kind of silly, but this moment endeared me to these characters a little bit more.
I wish I had some updates for Halloween, but the fact is we’re too new, and I’m not even sure if they celebrate Halloween in the FOTB universe. If you have any thoughts on the matter, leave a comment and share your thoughts. I’d love to know what you think.
