The idea to have Chen crochet a binturong doll was made awhile back, when I realized you never really ever see the creature in the strip. And since they’re just so damn awesome looking, I figured there ought to be something to represent the little guy besides a big, ugly ship.
Chen is modeled after a buddy of mine from childhood who treated his computer station as his home. He was more hospitable than Chen, but I like to think there’s a little bit of my friend in there.
Ack!

What if the computer running the other ship happens to BE the apparent two kids onboard.

By the way, I should point out the “two kids” that Ashland was referring to were Lee on the Adams, and his son, Wells. Sorry about that!
