I know, I know. More talking. But this is important! I like my protagonists surprised and capable of error, too.
On the production end, we’re nearing the end of the first major adventure of the Binturong and its crew. And I’m afraid for its future. TBH, I still don’t trust NavCorp (her I’m starting to change my mind on). Even if he sabotaged himself on that one, that doesn’t mean a megacorp like that is particularly trustworthy.

Exactly. Our hero only has himself to blame for his situation. Now the question becomes: what’s he going to do with this info? I mean, if he survives the pirates and ship insanity.
