Tom Harris is Captain of the Binturong. Some crappy stuff happened a few years back, and he still feels pretty bad about it. Leaving Earth was a good first step, though. He and Shaw raised a decommissioned service rig from the ground to the sky and built a home in the stars.
Jacob Shaw is First Engineer of the Binturong. He has never taken the lead. When his best friend suggested they take their revolutionary new spacecraft designs to the government, without NAV Corp approval, he knew it was a mistake. When they got out of prison, Harris had the service rig idea. But when Harris suggested they crew it themselves, no outsiders, Shaw stood his ground. They bumped the crew up to four, and never looked back.
Sam Avery is Head of Security of the Binturong. Until a few years ago, her name was synonymous with structure. She earned an exclusive skillset, a steady paycheck, and license to beat the crap out of lots of people. One bad day later, she received a call about an off-world job. No stability, no guarantees, and no references. She took the job, sight unseen.
Chen Salceda is the Navigator of the Binturong. Chen loved to watch. People, animals, politics, astronomy, secret government contracts– you name it, he’s seen it. And for the right price, he could show you what he’s seen. There are some higher ups who might take issue with that. People who can make life difficult for anyone if you’re living on Earth. Maybe it was time for a career change…
Harold Reis is one of the captains of the USS Rand. All military vessels have three captains that manage three different aspects of the vessel. He resents being forced to work directly with NAV Corp and helped spearhead the Corsair Program. Reis was career navy, and has never seen combat.
Jiang Wells is The Bone Skipper‘s Chief Navigator, though this title is more honorary, given his career as a pirate working under Captain Ashland. He has a knack for working with computers and machines.
